Usually it depends on where you are positioning the microphone - or what the microphone is sending to the mixer.  If you&#039;re peaking, most times there is a &quot;pad&quot; switch that can lessen the signal on the mixer or the microphone itself when turned on.  Use this switch, that should help you.

		<description>Why does the kick drum peak even though the gain/trim is turned completely down?...should the mics from the drums run into a D.I? Is it possible that perhaps the power amp is not big enough?
