Thanks!!! I was wildly frustrated and had no idea what the heck was going on. I just upgraded to Windows 7 and had to apply fix in both places.

Thank you! Fixed the problem on Windows 7 also – had to put in 2 places. Now I just have to figure out why the “help” button closes Macromedia in Windows 7.

Indeed a truly awesome fix. Found this problem on upgrading to Windows 7. Thought the app had crashed so re-installed twice (!!) before finding your page. Have only replaced it in the first location and it seems to work fine so far. Your instructions are really clear so don’t anticipate a problem if I do have to paste the new table.htm file in the other locations. Like the idea of being able to customise the interface as well.

I just got Windows 7 and the tables wouldn’t work, but your fix works great! I replaced it in the two spots and that was all it needed.

David you rock!! I am responsible for maintaining a website that I designed for a charity here in the UK. I upgraded my laptop to 7 a month ago and Dreamweaver hasn’t been the same since. Thanks to your fix, it’s all working swimmingly again. The tables thing had unexpected consequences like screwing the formatting six ways to a Sunday and stuff too. Now it’s working just as it did before and I’m really pleased. Neither the charity nor I have the money to upgrade.

I fixed this a different way. I looked through these procedures but was very hesitant to replace a default file with someone else’s if I didn’t have to.

I noticed that the file in my C:\Users\XXX\…\Roaming\…\Table.htm had a size of 0B–i.e. it was empty. I simply copied the default file from the C:\Program Files\…\Table.htm and pasted it there.

Worked like a champ.

I did install the update.

Then I pasted the new table.htm in the four locations, as above, because I had already removed & re-installed DW.

It worked

Since this app is no longer supported this was about my only hope for a fix.

Thanks – those were beautiful instructions. I only had to deal with the user … appdata folder. However, I even succeeded in changing the values for cellpadding and cellspacing – tho not, oddly, not width.
